Meet the trustees
BSEVC are looking for people to join the team of Trustees.
Currently we have 4 trustees who oversee the running and strategic direction of the organisation. Ideally you would have business experience and be able to give your time to attend monthly meetings. For more information please contact David on 01284 766126 to find out more.
Ken Fish has been a Trustee/Director for BSEVC since 2003. More recently he was appointed as Chair of the Charity. He is now enjoying retirement; previous career highlights include managing director of his business Consultancy Company and senior positions in international companies such as Shell and American Home Products. He is a keen tennis player and enjoys all sporting activities.
When we moved into offices next door to the BSEVC, we were very quickly made welcome. After getting to know Hazel then David, I was very pleased to offer my services as trustee. I have 34 years experience in industry and now own my own small business. The time spent working alongside Ken and the other trustees has given me an excellent insight into the working of a community transport organisation. With the new changes in provision of transport services, BSEVC has big plans for the future.
Chris joined the trustees in 2011 and became treasurer for the charity in 2013. Chris runs a technology business based in Thetford; and previously worked for the UK’s largest housing association, the media company Granada and the computer giants, IBM, GEC and Digital.
Sue Jay MBE
I am Vice Chair for BSEVC, which I have been associated with for many years. I have served as Chairman in the past and am a Director of their social enterprise Aspire Together CIC
I am the founding and current Managing Director of MTCIC, a community interest company, providing psychological therapies and volunteer opportunities to the population of East Anglia. I am married and have lived in Suffolk since 1982. When my children were young my husband and I fostered teenagers for 1986 to 1997. This experience gave me the motivation to seek a career working with people. I trained as a Counsellor and whilst working for West Suffolk Mind.
In the 2010 New Year’s Honours list, I received an MBE for my work in Mental Health Care in West Suffolk. This was in recognition of the work I had done with Job Centre+ and a project called Suffolk Employment Care. This project helped people with mental health get back into employment or volunteering.
I am also a Trustee of Artheads, a charity that provides people in recovery from drug and alcohol or mental health issues a creative place to support and maintain their recovery. I also act as a Mental Health Advisor to SO ACTIVE CIC and Family Carers Net, an online support organisation for family carers. I enjoy being involved within my village community and am currently a fundraiser and committee member for our Village Hall. Raising £600K for its rebuild.
